Description
I have decided to sell off the balance of my collection. These watches were acquired over a long period of fanatical collecting. Many of these pieces would be very difficult to replace today. The watch for sale in this auction is a 1969 Rolex Milgauss 1019. The watch is nearly New Old Stock and comes with its original box, papers, hang tags, and pamphlet. This watch is from the Antiquorum Revolution auction on April 17, 2008, lot 147. The stainless steel case has a length of 48.0mm lug to lug and a width of 37.5mm. The case back interior is signed “Montres Rolex SA, Geneva, Switzerland, Patented, Stainless Steel” along with the reference number “1019, III69.” The case is also signed “Registered Design, 1019” between the top lugs and “2623xxx” between the bottom lugs. The dial is guaranteed to be original and is in virtually perfect condition. It is signed “Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, Milgauss” beneath the twelve o’clock marker, “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” above the six o’clock marker and “T Swiss T” beneath the six o’clock marker. The watch is powered by a Rolex caliber 1580 rotor automatic. This is a hacking movement and it is in immaculate condition. The rotor is fully signed “Montres Rolex SA, Geneva, Swiss, 1570, Twenty Six 26 Jewels, Adjusted Five 5 Positions and Temperature.” This watch comes fitted on a Rolex riveted bracelet. The bracelet has twelve links. The buckle is signed “C&I, 76” indicating a production year of 1976. I don’t why a 1969 watch has a 1976 bracelet. I know the gentleman who consigned this watch to Antiquorum and he said this is the way the came when he purchased at an estate sale. Please read carefully: I reserve the right to end the auction early. I will only accept a Bank Wire as payment. No other payment methods are accepted. Payment must be received within 7 days after the auction ends or the transaction is null and void. Payment of all customs, duties, tariffs and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. Buyer is also responsible for postage and insurance. Insurance is mandatory. Shipping estimates can be obtained via the shipment cost calculator at the bottom of the listing. Please note that the cost of insurance may be higher than the estimate if the item ultimately sells for more than the current bid. I use US Priority Mail for shipments inside the United States and US Priority Mail International for shipments outside the United States. Due to problems with customs in Italy, I will not ship this item to Italy. Local pickup is acceptable, but only at my office in downtown Manhattan, New York and the payment must be in cash. Please note that my job requires that I travel often so I may not be able to answer questions for several days. Please be patient. I will answer questions as soon as possible.
