Please e-mail us for detailed pictures: mila_d@cox.net   Pictured here a very large ( 56.7 mm across ) August Piguet in 18K Hunting case, 174 gr. total weight. I would venture to say that the case alone may weigh around 140 grams !! That at today's gold price would equal about $2800. The movement is lever set. Lever is spring activated. One moves it towards the crown and a little pin pops out of the case next to the lever. Once this pin is pushed in the lever springs back to previous position. The dial is not signed but has only a number 4775 which is also the number on all case covers. The added picture of the older couple on the dial was an added expense when the watch was purchased. I assume they are the father and mother of the recipient of this watch.  The movement is signed Aug Piguet Geneve. The movement is covered with an exhibition back, then with a gold cover bearing an inscription with 1896 date and then the back cover. The inscription dating to 1896 reads: R.H. Grant Christmas 1896 From Father and Mother The case measures 56.7 mm in diameter. The dial is enamel or porcelain with sunken sub seconds. Very faint hairline visible under magnification. The winding crown has a portion of gold cap missing as shown. The watch is in working order keeping time to about 30 seconds/day. With service the timing should improve. We can have the service performed by our watchmaker at an additional cost prior to shipping.   Shipping will add $20 in the U.S. by registered mail and $100 overseas by FEDEX  insured. Payment by bank to bank wire transfer. Cashier's check or postal money order also acceptable fromU.S. buyers.   We had been E-bay Power Sellers with impeccable feedback (over 640 transactions, many in thousands of dollars each) for over 10 years. You can bid with total confidence.   We do not sell any fake or replica watches and never have !!! All watches you see in our auctions are authentic and as represented in our text and detailed photographs that we have taken of them(our descriptions and photographs are our property and are copyrighted, please do not use them without our consent). We sell pre owned watches in working order. Unless specifically stated by us that the particular watch has been serviced we do not guarantee the timing. The watch may be running a few minutes fast or slow (per 24 hour timing)which is something that can be remedied with a service( cleaning of the movement and regulating). We price our watches accordingly, if we have performed the service then we have to increase the price by our added cost. So the option is left to the buyer whether he or she wants to spend an additional $40 to $200(depending on a watch)to buy it already serviced. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing and have been collecting and selling fine and collectible watches since 1989. Now enjoy the auction :) We do reserve the right to cancel any bid in our auction due to the presence of some dishonorable bidders on E-Bay. If your feedback score is less than 97 percent positive you must contact us prior to bidding. If you are new to E-Bay or have a feedback of less than 5, please contact us prior to bidding as well. We have sold many expensive watches to buyers with a zero feedback, everybody has to start from zero feedback. We only want to assure a mutually beneficial experience. If we are unable to verify that you placed your bid with full intention of completing the deal we will cancel your bid! Please do not enter another bid after yours was canceled! If you have a history of bid retractions, please e-mail us before bidding. We are honorable and expect the same from our bidders. Buyer prepays before shipping and pays shipping charges as specified in each auction. We ship all items fully insured. Those over $700 in value are shipped by registered mail unless other arrangements are mutually agreed upon. In the event an item is lost or damaged while on route to you, we will not be held responsible. We will file a claim to recover damages from the carrier and once received we will forward the funds to the buyer. Most countries prohibit the shipping of gold articles by Express Mail EMS to their destination. Overseas buyers will have this purchase shipped by Fedex at a cost of $100 fully insured. If you feel that you must talk to us on the phone to feel more secure about a purchase, please e-mail us and we will forward the phone number where we can be reached. Shipping will add $20 in the U.S. ( $100 overseas by FEDEX ).
