First, the workmanship is precise, feminine and delicate. The ring clearly was made to fit this stone as it rises gently up to securely hold the shape of this diamond. The condition is excellent. Hardly worn, almost as new. Now the center diamond.. many old mine brilliant cushion shaped diamonds lack sparkle, have a yellowish tint and more flaws than we would like, but not this one. The stone was graded in the original setting by the crabbiest and most precise independent gem labs that grade mounted diamonds, the EGL. The grade the stone as fine white face up G to H color. The exellent cutting and bueatiful setting makes the diamond seem even whiter and brighter. The clarity is SI1. The stone is completely eye clean. The cutting is near perfect with a raised crown and small table. The total depth is 66.5% with the small amount of Extra depth in the raised top of the diamond. The raised top and small table 53% cause the light leaving the stone to be broken up into every color of the rainbow. At 3.28ct, this is a substantial size.
