Description
Natural Emerald mined in ColombiaShape and Cutting Style: Oval Modified Brilliant. Measurements: 31.38 mm x 24.62 mm x 19.23 mm. Weight: 80.99 carat. Transparency: Semi-Transparent. Color: Spectral Green. Clarity Enhancement: Natural Cedar Oil.Due to their growth conditions in nature and recovery methods, most Emeralds contain surface reaching features. For this reason, clarity enhancement is a common trade practice in the gem industry. My observations about this precious Emerald *By placing a white LED light behind this Emerald it looks to me like a grass green diamond, bursting with radiant fire. The spectacular jardin in this semi-transparent precious gem diffuses the light, throwing green flames in all directions. This Emerald would make an amazing center stone on a diamond or matched color Emerald necklace on a beautiful woman at a special event public or private.A museum may consider this a priceless specimen well worth the respectable yet historically low price per carat of $5,000 (US).One of this Emerald's endearing attributes is its spectral green color, not too dark and not too light. I'm convinced it is from the famous Muzo Emerald Mines for this very reason. The following link discusses the characteristics of Emeralds from various Colombian mines:http://www.rsoperations.com/Treasure/Precious_Stones/Emerald_Mines.htmNotice on the GIA certificate its color is simply designated as "green" (with no mention of blue). You may have noticed some GIA reports mention Emeralds exhibiting blue tones are designated as blue with green. Pure grass green, semi-transparent Emeralds are quite rare. Many do not realize they would have to fill a safety deposit box with gold coins or bars, and have trouble lifting its weight, for the equivalent value of this stone that nestles comfortably in the palm of your hand (or wrapped in a hankie in your coat pocket). Concentrating such wealth into such a mobile treasure of spectral green opulence is why rare gems such as large Emeralds have been a dependable form of capital preservation, not to mention intrinsic satisfaction, for millenniums.Up until the dot-com crash in the early 2000's semi-transparent Emeralds of this size were worth upwards of $50,000 per carat. Mother nature simply does not make many. Due to the largest hemorrhaging of wealth since the great depression as markets crash and money's value becomes highly questionable, these precious stones have fallen in price per carat (but never in timeless rarity) by 50% or more. There has never been a better time in history since the Great Depression to lock a portion of wealth. Emeralds are rare Earth treasures, and these natural resources sparkle from a custom designed pendant clear across a room or illuminate a safe deposit box with economic sanity in an insane economy. And in the worst of times? Emeralds have remained traditionally valued more per carat than Manhattan real estate is valued per square foot. This is my first eBay auction. I'm learning as I go along and wish to do this "right" in every way, so this transaction is completed safely and securely for both of us. I've invested a considerable amount in antiquities on eBay since 2003 and have a sterling reputation with sellers. If you've sold big ticket items on eBay and have advice on how I can improve this listing, I would be deeply grateful in your sharing your wisdom by dropping me a message. Thank you for understanding.Terms Worth Noting *I respectfully emphasize that all sales are final.Shipping *Although shipping insurance is not offered, please contact me if you have an insurer that will cover this shipment and to make shipping insurance arrangements, or to arrange to pick-up the Emerald in person at my local attorney's office.* FootnotesAll information in this listing is the seller's personal assessments based on personal research. However, with retirement approaching I must part with some of my most loved and rarest treasures created inside our magnificent Earth. It is comforting to know the buyer will own an enduring treasure that no economy can snatch out from under you.Additional Terms for Domestic (United States) and International (Worldwide) BuyersAll orders outside the United States are considered international.
