Many critics consider Calvin the best Navajo inlay artist working today. Link inlay jewelry is one of the most labor intensive type of Native American jewelry. Each link is channel inlaid with multiple tiny pieces of semi-precious stones  and hand connected with hand made hinges. This incredible necklace features 29 individual links inlaid with earth-tone stones, such as tiger's eye, various jaspers, jet, lab opal & black onyx. The silver links are oval-shaped, while the inlay portions are round. The links range in size from the center link, which is 3/4" by 5/8", graduating down to 1/2" ovals at the ends. The back of every link is solid sterling silver. The necklace measures about 21" long when closed and it weighs about 80 grams. Nothing flimsy about this necklace. There is a hidden clasp and safety chain. The matching drop hinged earrings for pierced ears feature the same design and stones. They measure almost 1-1/4" long.
