TOP GEM.  The center natural diamond is a european cut weighing approximately 0.55carat - 1/2 carat, surrounded by an additional 25 diamonds = 0.50 carats. This stunning diamond and sapphire ring is crafted in a period-classic, hand-made, one-of-a-kind platinum setting. The center stone is a round European cut natural diamond, bead set in a shield shaped platinum bezel frame. A tiny diamond, also bead set, fills out the bottom point of the shield shape, creating the effect of a shield shaped center stone. Immediately outside of the shield shaped bezel is a row of 10 full french cut sapphire baguette stones, all perfectly matched and rich in color. The remainder of the top of the ring features hand made, milgrain edged leaves, scrolls, and ropes, all studded with diamonds. Intricate hand carving and etching detail flow down all three sides of the delicate band. The engraving is continuous around the entire band, as in an eternity band. The overall look is clean with the classic architecture of art deco design. This ring is hand-made and most certainly one-of-a-kind. The most striking feature of this exceptional piece is the marking found on the inside of the ring: marked on a platinum plaque are "Van Cleef & Arpels", under which "Paris" and a three digit number, either "542" or "648", though the numbers are difficult to read. Marked inside the band is "Platinum". Vintage Pieces from this era were made with care and true craftsmanship - you can be sure you're getting an original at closeout price.
