It is an authentic Georgian natural seed pearls necklace (restrung) with the earrings (french wires) and a pin. This is an authentic antique and is in absolutely pristine shape! All pearls are present. The earrings are gorgeous teardrop shapes of mother of pearl with stitch holes drilled in them with meticulously strung/stitched natural pearls in a teardrop shape, with decending sized and a looped border. The fact that they are in such exquisite shape is a marvel. All pearls present and the condition is perfect!!! They measure 1” long but hang a little longer due to the French wire closures. Fine fine workmanship and so so rare to find in this condition. WOW.   And then, add the amazing matching pin and necklace. This is a special set. The pin is long and in an elongated bow shape, again mounted on the hand drilled mother of pearl backing with a high carat gold pin back the likes of which I have not seen before. The pin is 3” long x 3/8” and again, all pearls are present. The entire set of pearls matches perfectly in color and has an amazing luster. Seed pearls are natural and these pearls are at least 100 years older than the discovery of culturing pearls anyway! Natural pearls are very valuable and these are natural saltwater pearls.   The necklace is composed of twelve strands (12!!!!) that are actually 4 strands of 3 twisted strands each. Again, all pearls are present and this is 15-16” long with each length of three twisted strands being s little longer than the other so that they lay not on top of each other but in succession of each other. The pearls are ½ to 1mm in diameter, how on EARTH were these drilled???  They are a creamy white. They are not stained at all and are well strung and with an antique clasp (still later than the original) but still very old. I can honestly say the delicacy and rarity of a set like this astounds me. I think any pearl collector and lover has a special appreciation for natural pearls – and who wouldn’t want natural pearls? These truly are as nature made them. The thought of this many hundreds…(thousands?) of pearls being found, matched drilled and strung in antiquity is staggering.
