Beginning October of this year, 2008, Ebay is only allowing sellers to accept online type of payments. I do not take credit cards directly, so I guess pay pal is your only option. I use the USPS, postal system exclusivly, and I don't use UPS or Fedex, unless the buyer pays for and arranges for the pick up at my office. I will usually ship within 7 days, from the time of payment clearing, and I always buy insurance for domestic sales. This insurance is included in the shipping price, so you need'nt worry about adding any extra money for insurance. Foreign items can only be insured for $40.00, and that is why I prefer registered mail, for foreign sent items.
