TOBIAS Pocket watch. This is guaranteed to be the genuine article. I must first state I know nothing about this item except what I see and read. I tried to take lots of pictures so you can see and read everything that I do.My father bought this watch from an estate. He was an expert in watches, as he was a watch maker by trade and then became a jewelry store owner. It is a M.I. Tobias, London. The I can be confused with a J because of the fancy script and there is an MJ Tobias, but that is Swiss and not the same quality level as this piece. The case is 18kt gold. It is 13 jewels. Watch runs when wound, but I have not had a chance to test for accuracy. The face has some cracks-as you can see. When I opened the front to take pictures of the dial without the crystal bouncing off the flash, the crystal came out. I do not want to break anything as the crystal looks original, so I will leave the crystal as is. 52MM round. There are a few minor pings in the case-some wear at the edges of the design-an M engraved in the cartouche. This pocketwatch was from my father's fine jewelry store-Englewood Jewelers in New Jersey, selling Rolex (he was an authorized dealer), Movado, Concord, Omega, LeCoultre, etc. He bought many fine estates.
