The chinse wound beads were the dominent bead in the Northwest until about 1854. That is about the time that Venetian beads were being imported for trade in the Northwest. One can research these beads by reading Gerald Fenstmakers booklets "Northwest Colored Trade Bead Chart," and "First Northwest Coast ColoredTrade Bead Chart," also by Gerald Fenstermaker, and Fenstermakers booklet "The Chinese Bead."
