Description
Solid Crystal Opal "A Very Rare Gem Of Outstanding Quality" History And General Outline Of The Opal: This opal was handed down to me from my dad, who passed away in August of 2007. His wish for me was to sell the opal to help me secure a home for myself and for my son. And now i feel the time is right for me to do so. I am not an opal dealer. This is a private sale. My dad was 66 when he passed away and he pursued opals in Australia from opal fields such as Lightning Ridge and Coober Pedy for over 40 years. This opal came from a mine at Coober Pedy. It was my dads favorite opal from over 40 years of collecting. And there was very good reason for that... On the 20th November this year, just one week ago, after allowing myself time to recover from the loss of my dad, and being spiritually led to meet many wonderful people in the opal mining industry over the last year, my journey with my dads opal led me to meet the President of the National Council Of Jewellery Valuers in South Australia. This wonderfully natured man I feel honoured to have had met, and he has now valued the opal. The opal was valued for the purpose of insurance cover at $33,000.00 (thirty three thousand dollars). This figure is the AVERAGE retail value, and the current legal valuation documents i have will cover the opal in monetary terms to that value. Having said that, this opal turns out to be a 'Very Rare Gem of Outstanding Quality'. This is the comment left on the valuation certificate by the President of the National Council Of Jewellery Valuers in South Australia. So in monetary terms the opal is covered for $33,000.00. It is however irreplaceable for $33,000.00, as it is a very rare gem, a one of a kind, georgeous gemstone. The stone was polished by a professional in the opal industry. This man cuts stones to the value of hundreds of thousands of dollars, and on the valuation certificate you will read his work on this stone as 'Excellent Polish'. The picture of the valuation certificate is included in this listing, it is a legal document in Australia, with the stamp from the opal valuer at the bottom of the page which makes it so. The stamp may be hard to see in a picture, as it is a brail like imprint in the paper, but that stamp makes the valuation a legal document for insurance purposes in Australia. I am unsure of the legality of the valuation in other countries, this is something you will have to look into in your own country of residence. I have deleted personal information from the valuation certificate, so you will need to contact me if you are interested in this opal, but i have left all relevant information about the opal for you to read. Main Points About The Opal: 1. A very rare gem of outstanding quality.2. Contains ALL spectral colours.3. Solid crystal, no cracks, as perfect an opal as you can find. 23.43cts of solid crystal opal. 32.88mm X 13.91mm.4. Most people do a 'double take' when looking at this opal!6. Excellent polish.7. Possibly 10 million years old, give or take a few million years! Current Storage, Payment and Delivery Arrangements: The opal is stored in a High Security Bank Safety Deposit Box in South Australia . I am the only person with access to the opal. It will remain there from now until the new owner of the opal arranges with me payment, and the hand over of the opal. I would like to give the new owner full assurance that they can make any arrangements with me regarding the transition of the opal from me to you, so long as we both mutually agree. If you ask me to fly to another country to drop it off to your door, well i may consider, but may not be willing to do that! Our arrangement must be suitable for both parties involved in the sale of this opal, you the buyer, and me the seller. If you wish for me to hold the opal in the High Security Bank, i will do so for however long is practically needed, until we suitably arrange a secure delivery that we are both happy with. Until then, the opal will not be leaving the highly secure environment it is currently in. Please contact me with any further questions you may have. The video and pictures are shot under a 25watt soft light globe. Thanks to youtube for the video hosting.
