Pink Diamond GIA Our Toll Free number is at the bottom of this page 2.25carat Faint Pink/SI2 Cushion Cut Diamond GIA Report #R1480 Custom made "Split Shank Halo" Platinum ring ACTUAL MOVIES of this beautiful princess cut diamond ring The Diamond Here's how this story unfolds- it starts with the unfolding of a piece of paper, about 8 months ago....... This is part of the label. I understood that "2.25 PRI" meant a 2.25carat princess cut diamond. Now, if it had said "FLY", I would naturally assume it was a Fancy Light Yellow. By that same assumption FLP could only mean one thing- Fancy Light....PINK???? I've never seen a Fancy Light Pink Princess Cut over 2carats. Over the 30 plus years, and probably hundreds of thousands of stones, I have not seen all that many Fancy Light Pink anything., much less a 2 carat plus Princess Cut Fancy Light Pink is quite pink. Naturally, I quickly opened the paper. Diamond Color Chart for pink diamonds I could tell right away, this was not pink enough to be called a Fancy Light. I graded the color as a faint pink. I could also tell that it looked like a well cut princess cut........ and there was definitely something pink there.... The next thing that happened was that I fell in love with it. It's a great cut for FLASH- incredible sparkle- great size. The cut is spectacular. The SI2 imperfections are in spots that make them very hard to see with a loupe- a very very good SI2. HOW DO WE FIND SUCH DIAMONDS? The first time I was shown this ( and the other 100+ Diamonds) was just to get my reaction .....I looked at everything as much as I wanted, but nothing was available to buy just yet- they were figuring out how much the diamonds were worth. This cutter mainly deals with Colorless, and near colorless. This was a very unique situation. About 5 months passed till I was again shown these stones- this time the diamonds were available, and marked with prices. I gasped upon learning that we'd have to offer the 2.25ct Faint Pink Princess for about $80,000. I also declined to buy it. We did buy a bunch of the other diamonds, at that time- but not this one. I let about 5 months pass till I broached the subject again. This time, we got extremely lucky- he agreed to very near the price I had in mind. We're talking almost 50% less. Normally, he would never agree to that kind of discount off his asking price. Normally I never need to offer less- because that's how sharp his prices on colorless diamonds are. So there you have it.
