This bracelet is made with 10 strands of VERY THICK hair -THE BRACELET IS MADE USING PURE WHITE/RUST/GRAY HAIR. The sliding knots allow it to open to a 3 and half inch diameter which should fit any hand -once the bracelet is over your hand you adjust it to fit your wrist.  We personally collect the ELEPHANT HAIR in the wild where we live (St. Lucia -South Africa -THE ELEPHANT COAST) after being shed from the tail of an elephant. HOW DO I TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GOOD QUALITY BRACELET AND A POOR QUALITY ONE Firstly you have to be sure that it is REAL ELEPHANT HAIR. If you pay less than $35 for a bracelet it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that you have real elephant hair or any type of quality. In the second picture you will see an actual elephant hair with a quarter -the average length of an elephant hair is around 22 inches. The hair is thick on one end and thin on the other -to get a uniform hair you have to cut it and use many pieces -to get thick hair is even more difficult because this hair comes from very old elephants. White or colored (earthtone) hair comes from older animals and is very rare. You have to be sure that the hair is "NEW" and has not been lying in the bush for a long time where it has often been stomped on (elephants use the same paths for 100's of years). Once you have your hair GOOD CRAFTMANSHIP comes into the equation. The knots have to be similar in SIZE AND SHAPE and they must not be too tight or too loose. If they are too tight you cannot open or close the bracelet and if they are too loose the bracelet opens of its own accord and could fall off your hand. If the knot is not made properly then it UNRAVELS and CANNOT BE REPAIRED -this is the most common technical problem.
