Description
This is probably one of the rarest Judith Ripka bracelets made. It is a large link bracelet covered end to end in rare fancy colored pink diamonds with white diamond accents. This bracelet has 140 rare natural pink diamonds and 56 white VS F-G diamonds for a total of 196 diamonds. The pink diamonds are a pretty dusty vintage pink color. It is VERY attractive. They are each at least 2 points, so this is probably roughly 3.92 carats of diamonds, possibly more though, I think it might be more. It was very hard to measure them in the bead settings to get an exact measure. Judith Ripka only uses the best VS F-G diamonds, in her couture collection pieces. The bracelet also weighs a super hefty 68 grams of 18kt trademark celadon gold, well over two ounces. Judith Ripka's trademare celadon green gold is a shade specially formulated by her because it flattering on EVERY skin tone where as some shades of yellow gold can be waxy looking and unflattering. Don't be confused about green gold, it's not green per se, but, just has a greenish yellow cast for a softer pastel yellow rather than the dull brassy look of most gold. It is in fact very flattering. Barry Kieselstein-Cord and several other top couture jewelry designers also use green gold for this reason. The bracelet is 7 inches long and an impressive 1/2 inch wide (13mm) and 3mm thick, wow! A very wide heavy link bracelet. Photos do not do this bracelet justice at all, it was very hard to photograph and capture the pretty color of the diamonds. The clasp is super secure. It latches incredibly tight when the ends are inserted and is very tightly closed. It has an extra safety bar underneath. That safety bar could use tightening by a jeweler as it can flap open, but, typically since it's tucked underneath it stays in place under the bracelet against your arm and it's redundant since the bracelet locks closed so tightly. So, it is really not even needed. And since it lays on the underside against your arm, you don't notice and so I never bothered to take it in. I only mention it because I'm anal and want to be completely accurate. The underside has a lovely gallery and instead of round holes to let light in like many pieces, they are little hearts. Also, there are 2 diamond hearts near the clasp. These are Judith Ripka signature details. This is fully hallmarked and guaranteed authentic. Price is firm. The retail on this was $16,000 about 10 years ago. Naturally today, this would sell for even more, a lot more. In fact, if you look at Judith Ripka's website, small bangles with only a dozen small diamonds sell for about $12,000. Her pieces now have diamonds as accents and very few pink diamonds due to rarity. This bracelet however is covered with diamonds and mostly with rare pink ones. I shudder to think what this would retail for now. I tried to find out, but, was unable to, it is no longer made, nor are there any made similar to it with all pink diamonds currently. Luckily all her pieces are made to coordinate, and this will fit beautifully with other Judith Ripka bracelets you own. If you check out Bergdorf Goodman, they do have a similar all white diamond bracelet for $22,000 that is rather close, but, it has only white diamonds, not rare pink ones, and they have an onyx ring (not a rare stone at all) that's a whopping $17,000!!! You can check those out here.... http://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod36800002&parentId=cat284206&masterId=cat265304&index=2&cmCat=cat000000cat202801cat203104cat265304cat284206 Or you can check out the other Ripka bracelets on ebay and you'll see they are all either higher than mine or priced similarly but have far less gold and far fewer diamonds than mine. This is the nicest and largest and most high end of her bracelets I've ever seen. There are simple Ripka rings listed on ebay for more than this bracelet, so my price is a bargain. So, don't wait too long to buy it, I love the bracelet myself and am considering hanging on to it and selling some other items instead. So, if you love it, buy it before someone else does or I keep it. THIS ITEM IS ELIGIBLE FOR A $200 MSN.COM REBATE IF BUY IT NOW IS USED.
